Joseph Bramwell Gill, 82, died June 8, 1987 in Bountiful, Utah.
He was born February 17, 1905 in Lehi, Utah to Henrietta Bradder and Joseph Jonson Gill. He married Leonora Miller in the Salt Lake LDS Temple, October 14, 1927. He was a member of the LDS Church having served in many positions of leadership. He retired as a procurer of land and land rights for the Utah Power & Light Company after more than 40 years of service. He was an Eagle Scout and was very devoted to scouting. He wore the Scoutmaster Key and the Fifty Year Service Pin, and was one of the first to receive the prestigious Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America. He had a zest for life and a compassion for friends and loved ones that was incomparable. His great love for the out-of-doors brought him into the world of photography where he captured the beauty of nature on colored slides. He was past president of the Salt Lake Photochrome Club and Rainbow Club. He was a Board Member of the Utah Chapter of the Photographic Society and was an Associate of the Photographic Society of America (P.S.A) which has bestowed its honor of Fellow upon him.
He is survived by: his wife and five daughters, Mrs. Tudor (Sarah Ellen) Jones, Walnut Creek, California; Marilyn Mead, Mrs. Dean R. (Pauline) Cannon and Lavon Carter, all of Bountiful; Mrs. Lynn (Jolene) Gillete, Cupertino, California. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Randall (Myrtle) Schow, Lehi; Mrs. Willis E. (Arvilla) Groves, St. George; one brother, Charles E. de St. Jeor, Salt Lake City; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 11, 1987, 11 a.m. at the Orchard 2nd Ward Chapel, 3707 South 800 West. Viewing will be held on Wednesday evening, June 10, from 6-8 p.m. at Russon Brothers Mort6uary, 295 North Main Street in Bountiful, and from 10-10:45 a.m., Thursday, June 11, at the Orchard 2nd Ward Chapel. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
