This is the sign that greets you at the Joseph F. Smith Memorial Grove, which was dedicated on July 24, 2000, by Elder M. Russell Ballard. (See article on Deseret News web site.) I feel it is appropriate that the same sign greet you at the online connection to the Grove.
The Joseph F. Smith Memorial Grove is part of the Old Deseret Village at This is the Place Heritage Park located at the mouth of Emigration Canyon at 2601 East Sunnyside Avenue (800 South) in Salt Lake City, just north of the Hogle Zoo.
We have reached our goal of $118,000 to fund the creation of the Joseph F. Smith Memorial Grove. Thanks to everyone who has pulled together to make this possible. This grove will be a wonderful teaching tool that we can all use to help generations to come understand the way of life that
our ancestors experienced.
The dedication for the Joseph F. Smith Memorial Grove took place on July 24, 2000 at the This is the Place Monument.
