Earlier in this dispensation, a father and his son, both of whom were serving as apostles, died within 10 months of each other. Can you name these two apostles?

Answer: Hyrum Mack Smith, the son of Joseph F. Smith, died on January 23, 1918 at the relatively young age of 45 years 10 months. He had served as an apostle for 16 years 03 months. In Andrew Jenson’s Biography of Latter-day Saints, it states that Elder Smith “was stricken with his last illness, from the effects of which he died.” No other details are given. Joseph F. Smith, the sixth President of the Church and Hyrum Mack Smith’s father, died on November 19, 1918 at the age of 80 years 0 months.
